Situation in Gaza
Forced To Flee Advocacy Statement

26 October 2023
Forced To Flee are heartbroken and deeply troubled surrounding the continuing events in Gaza, and express serious concern regarding the lack of action by the international community - notably the continued deadlock in the United Nations Security Council over resolutions which are critical for humanitarian aid.
Therefore, as the United Nations General Assembly meets today in its tenth Emergency Special Session, Forced To Flee reaffirm our calls for:
1. An immediate ceasefire, and the instigation of dialogues for a sustainable peace with urgency;
2. Unimpeded access of humanitarian aid to Gaza without delay or interference;
3. Respect of the fundamental human right to seek asylum, as declared under Article 14 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
We will always stand with refugees and deplore violence of any kind against innocent civilian populations. The events unfolding in Gaza are not new, but it is an ongoing humanitarian crisis which requires immediate action.
