Forced To Flee X UNHCR UK
The UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees) is the UN Refugee Agency which operates all over the world. UNHCR UK is a branch of the UNHCR which is based in the United Kingdom. The global organisation protects the rights, saves lives and builds better futures for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people. They aid people fleeing war, conflict, violence or persecution and help them seek asylum in another State, with the option to eventually return home, integrate or resettle. The UNHCR provide critical emergency assistance and essentials in the form of healthcare, clean water and blankets as well as providing shelter and sometimes food. Their incredible work saves lives. UNHCR UK is based in London with their offices in Holborn. They work with the UK Government and the Home Office on a regular basis aiming to help refugees resettle and protect their rights within the United Kingdom.
About UNHCR UK
The project came about as a result of Forced To Flee being invited to UNHCR UK's offices in Holborn. Our founder met Ms. Pagliuchi-Lor and in summer of 2019 conducted an exclusive interview on behalf of Forced To Flee with Rossella, creating Forced To Flee X UNHCR UK! This partnership allows for Forced To Flee to be recognised and appreciated by more people and organisations around the world, as Forced To Flee focuses on topics directly applicable to the UNHCR's work.
By communicating with UNHCR UK, Forced To Flee can provide a wider range of appropriate and reliable information to the public, and hence effectively raise awareness about human rights and the refugee crisis specifically. To have established a relationship with the UNHCR and have interviewed Ms. Rosella Pagliuchi-Lor is truly an honour and an amazing opportunity.
