listening to the unheard.
Forced To Flee's Refugee Week Theme
Everyday, someone has a story that has to be heard, whether that is to share an experience, comfort someone or get justice. For example, the story of George Floyd led people to bring the issue of racism, equality and police brutality to the front of lawmakers' minds. If we didn't listen, watch or see the video of Mr Floyd it is highly doubtful that any change would have been made or anyone would take to the streets and peacefully protest about these important issues. But before we can fight for change, a story needs to be told, evidence needs to be gathered and the spark for change needs to be lit inside each and every one of us. We need to listen the unheard. Share the stories and fight for change! Let's make a change and let's do it together. Listen to each other, comfort each other and never stop doing what you believe in.
Global Theme: Imagine
Imagine a world. A world where everyone hated each other, judged each other because of their race, social class, sexuality, a disability or gender. A world full of war and violence. With absolute certainty, our society would crumble and our planet would be in ruins. What a world would that be. It's unfortunate to say that some of those things exist in our society today. Now imagine a world of peace, non-violence and where everyone was treated equally and every person was valued. That is a world we should all strive to create. But why do we need to imagine? Why can we not make it a reality! Don't imagine, do.
