Don't Discriminate.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) doesn't, so why should you?

A message from the founder of Forced To Flee
To everyone reading this message,
I would first like to thank all of the people around the world who are on the front line and are fighting this virus first hand. Thank you to the medical staff; doctors, nurses, 999 and 111 call responders, hospital staff and cleaners; supermarket workers, delivery drivers and anyone else helping those who are affected by Covid-19 or helping those self-isolating at home. Secondly, I strongly advise everyone to follow the advice of national or local governments and the World Health Organisation, as during this time it is vital to obtain information from trustworthy sources. Please do not take to heart the advice of any untrustworthy social media 'gossip' concerning the virus. Thirdly, please stay at home if you can. Especially those experiencing coronavirus symptoms. Whilst this may be difficult, we must all join together by doing this to protect the lives of others. Coronavirus is a deadly disease and we must work together to defeat it. In addition, I urge you not to watch the news all day, as this could scare or frighten some people. Use this situation to your advantage; learn a new skill, spend time with those in your household, start a project you have wanted to do and/or work from home. Finally, please care, respect and support each other. Every single person is a human being, and all deserve access to healthcare and medical assistance especially during this pandemic. No one should face stigma of any kind because of who they are; elderly, a 'foreigner', a refugee, disabled, homeless or otherwise. Coronavirus doesn't discriminate, so why should you?! We must; respect the guidelines, stay at home, cooperate with each other, support each other, and defeat this virus. Together. Our world is becoming cleaner; marine life has returned to Venice, polluted rivers and lakes are becoming clearer, pollution in the air is lowering. All as a result of everyone staying at home, by doing this we aren't just saving the lives of other but are also saving the lives of the wildlife, plants and we are helping our planet. Thank you for taking the time to read this message, I urge you to share and spread it as this is a virus we all face and we should be as well equipped and informed as possible. Stay home. Stop the spread of the virus. Save lives. Stay safe. #StopTheSpread #WorkTogether #DontDiscriminate Best Wishes, Aryan Sanghrajka - Founder of Forced To Flee |

Covid-19 & Refugees, Migrants, IDPs & FDPs
Why should I care?
Refugees, migrants and other displaced people are very vulnerable members of society. They are especially at risk during this time due to the coronavirus pandemic. On a regular basis, they have very little access to clean water, safe sanitation, health facilities and medical staff. Over 80% of the world's refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs) and forcibly displaced persons (FDPs) are currently in low to middle income countries. They often face many challenges and keeping them safe, means keeping everyone safe.
As the news shows, often refugees, migrants and IDPs live in tightly packed camps. Thanks to the work of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and other Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) who have helped implement hand sanitisation stations and increased health care services in camps. These facilities as well as many others are vital in helping contain the spread of the virus and keeping people safe. The UNHCR in particular, also help to ensure rights and protections of forcibly displaced people are respected, including the right to seek asylum, despite many national borders being closed.
Your help is vital. Donate now to help vulnerable people who receive life-saving aid from the UNHCR. Now is not a time to neglect and forget about refugees, migrants, IDPs and forcibly displaced people. In fact, they are some of the most vulnerable people and they need are help. They are no different to you or anyone else. They are human beings too.
